Help Samsung galaxy ace tethering

I have a samsung galaxy ace boat anchor, I can connect my PC to the internet via USB tethering but can't tether to my Asus tablet. When trying to tether to the Asus tethering does not come up as an option on either usb, wifi or bluetooth. Yet all these options are available when tethering to my PC, any ideas? other than dropping it in the ocean of course...

I don't think USB tethering will work on a tablet but wifi definitely should. Have you tried settings tethering security to "none" on the phone?
