Samsung Galaxy Europa Froyo Open Source

I'm not sure whether this was the right place to put this.

Ok, so today, Samsung announced that froyo would be coming to the Galaxy Europa in March 2011, but released it to their open source website today.

Would someone be able to tell me what the open source would mean (would it be possible to run it or is it just the code, for examining), would my phone need flashing or rooting, and how it would be installed?

Thanks in advance. :)

So would I be right in assuming that the Froyo update will be available through the normal Kies update route in "March". Until then It's a case of loading this version via Odin?

Is it possible to update it without using odin? And will it void a warranty? :)

Do you lot think that unbranded fones will get froyo quicker in March because theres no need for a provider to change anything?
