Help Samsung Galaxy Note 2 - On battery hours problem

Hi, it's me again.

I noticed a problem with my Samsung Galaxy Note 2's battery status.
Usually I can check the number-of-hours-on-battery from Settings-Battery and it would show the total number of hours from the moment I discharge the battery. I would switch off my Note 2 every night and the hour count will continue when I switch on the device next morning.

But I notice now that the next morning I switch on my Note 2, it starts counting the number of hours from zero. Not sure whether I accidentally pressed something because all the while it worked fine and this only happened since last Thursday.

Does anyone have a clue about what's going on? Please help~~!

I'm familiar, but not an expert about your device (my wife has a Note 2 also), but what confuses me, is the fact that the battery monitor continued to function when the device was shut off. And now it doesn't.
When the phone is shut off, nothing should be running and when booted back up, all the caches should be cleared.

Did you recently update the device?

I would check my wife's phone but I rooted it not too long ago and flashed a rom to it, so it's completely different.

Not sure whether my phone gets updated or not... it just automatically pump in some updates when I connect to network.
I have been checking the on-battery hours everyday to see how long it can last. Let's say I power-on my phone for 12 hours a day. I power-off it at night and the next day it would continue from 12h onwards. But now it seems to initialize to zero and this is NOT always the case. Sometimes the counter continues, sometimes it doesn't.

Unplug what? The charger?
I unplugged the charger last night and continued using it for an hour then power-off. This morning the hour count became zero. I'll see if it happens again tomorrow morning. Strange

Another thing. Sometimes when I charge the device, the LED indication light won't turn on itself. Light on only after I on-off the screen. Again this is not always the case... only sometimes

That's how mine has always been. You have 93% battery life and how long you have been on battery is displayed.

What is wrong with the display? I can't tell. Mine has always been from time on not total time used in battery per charge

Mine would usually display how long the device has been on battery since last discharge unless I charge the battery again, which would reset the hour count to zero. So yours is different? Now it seems my phone would reset counter only after the first time I restart after charging. Sounds confusing
