Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Screen on when s pen detached

If I'm not mistaken prior to the update to 4.3 the screen would turn on. After the update the screen does not turn on after the S pen is detached. The screen does not turn on if I have "open pop up note" checked either )SETTINGS|S PEN|OPEN POP UP NOTE).

Is this behavior found on everyone's Note 2 or is mine just real special?

I'm still on 4.1.2...When I remove s pen. Yes, screen comes on and s note pops up. Did they remove this too on 4.3? Yuck..

Either they did or my device is messed up.

I'm running stock 4.3 and there is an issue with the S Pen removal turning on the screen.

Here are the scenarios I have tried and was able to replicate time and again (I use PIN for my lock screen).

With the screen off:
1) If in lockscreen mode with PIN enabled: removal of S Pen will turn on screen.
2) If NOT in lockscreen mode and just on a homescreen: removal of S Pen will make the removal sound but will NOT turn on the screen.

This seems to be a bug with the 4.3 update. Don't think Samsung will do anything about it and expect the Note 2 to have reached EOL in terms of support.
