I unrooted it a while ago. That knox wouldn't work but now it does

I have just checked and indeed my knox trip counter has been reset to 0

Did the repair shop say what they did to fix the problem? Would be good to know if someone else has same issue. Yours was the first time I had heard of Kernel Panic.

Ok. So I've spoke to them. Its had a new main board, battery, screen, home button and some cabling was sorted out.

ah, so that is how the "Knox counter" magically got reset to zero..... it is a fuse, and you can't just 'repair' it once it is blown.
