Help Samsung Galaxy S - Indian thread

Tanks fabler..got it from a samsung mobile dealer..goes by the name pujara..its on shivranjani cross road..btw ny of u noe how to instal non market apps..ie .apk files without a file manager..dnt have access to internet rt now..

Hmm.. You'll need a file manager first buddy. Just go anywhere in the mall where you get a free internet hotspot (gujarat university is best place) and install ASTRO file manager. Then just transfer any .apk file from your PC using USB cable to your SD card. You'll have to enable one option from settings before installing 3rd party applications.

Go to Settings->Application Settings and then check the "Unknown Sources" option. and voila.

Then open ASTRO file manager. Navigate to your .apk file. Then click on it. Then select second option from menu. And then click on install and click on install again.
 
Its available in gurgaon and delhi for 29500 i enquired at the shops in dt and metropolitan mall in gurgaon and moti nagar samsung showroom all quoted the above price post bargaining

It's available with "Range Tele Services" K-17, Lajpat Nagar 2 for 28k :)
 
I bought my SGS from alfa, mumbai last week for 28.5k
Amazing phone, worth every bit of the money spent...

Have any of you tried out the Neocore app? It's a graphics performance benchmark app which plays a 1min long graphics intense video and records the frames per sec (fps) score for the fone...

I was going through the comments posted in the neocore app section, and it's clear that SGS has outperformed every other android phone quite easily...

Approx score ranges:

HTc Hero: 27 - 34
HTC Evo: 24 - 26
Sony X10: 29 - 33
Moto Droid X: 42
Moto Droid: 23 - 26

Dunno why but Alfa charges 500rs more..whereas its suppose to be cheapr there.. Everywhere else its available for 28000/-...
I bought mine from a store in powai... :) :)

On my SGS I got a score of 54.5
 
i had played da game paper toss on x10 nd i played it yesterday on my galaxy s...nd x10 is nowhere near galaxy s wen i t comes to graphics..
Does ny1 have asphalt 5 installed on dere phone?
wen i run da game it says it has 2 download 44mb from da net which it btw dusnt..help!!!!
oh yeah fabler i went to iskon mall dey have wifi over dere...i have finally started likin ahmedabad..im from mumbai btw..here on vacations...although ppl realy need to learn how to drive here...
 
Btw guyz sgs has an inbuilt file manager with the help of which u can install 3rd party apps...nd i was so desperate for astro file manager..feel like such a fool now...
Swype is jus da best..cant say da same bt da video recordin though..indoors at 720p on zooming it gets pixelated...
nd da battery is terrible...but dat may be coz im using it 24x7....
its fukin awsome...
 
Asphalt installs fine here from Samsung Apps.. Battery is really awesome, give it a few days.. It can easily manage 2 days on moderate use, and 3 days on light use..
