Help Samsung Galaxy S - Indian thread

^^ Try it out! It should update baseband! Mine is still downloading.. The download stalled before, now downloading again :|
 
What a surprise !!! Just today I posted that we are neglected.....may be they have listened to me !!! But only the modem file ????!!!!!! ......as Nick says !!!!
If it is....then hope if we flash this modem file with CODE & CSC of DDJF2....we may be able to update.....isn't it ??? What's say.....
 
kalpil bro... does mimocan lag fix actually cause battery drain or am i just imagining it?
am using a class 4 sd. Used it for a day on JM2.. am wondering whether i should use it on DDJG4
 
^^ The single file should contain all 3: PDA, Modem and CSC. Waiting for confirmation from twisted_mind :)

Lots of people were having battery drain with JM2. So its not the mimocan fix that causes battery drain! Also, please confirm if all 3, are DDJG4 when you dial *#1234#

I am still not able to connect to KIES, if i download this from samsung firmwares and then flash using odin, will my warranty be intact ?

and can you pls give me step by step guide for this particular ROM and what all I need to backup .. sorry for asking again and again :)

Yes...that was my question: "what are the files inside DDJG4 ? Plzz let me know Kalpik."

All 3 indeed are DDJG4.. i did *#1234# and confirmed :)

And as kalpik suggested in odin, keep re-partition checked and only set the downloaded file in the PDA section. Leave CSC and Modem blank. Select 512 pit and fire away ;)
 
OHHHH !!!! Thank GOD !!! Kalpik is the master I admire :) It's really an exciting news !!! We all Indians are really glad :):):)

so in tar file we need to use only the PDA file and not the CSC and Modem ? and how do you find the performance after this flash ?

Just load the ADD_ODD tar file in odin under the pda section. Leave the csc and modem fields blank.

Performance was sucky right after i installed this rom over JM2.... But after applying mimocan lag fix, the phone is flying like it was on JM2. So overall no improvement over JM2+mimo fix.
BTW , i did a Quadrant benchmark on the DDJG4 rom after restoring my apps.... got a score of 800-odd points

Ran Quadrant after applying the mimocan fix, and got 1490 points.
 
Upgraded to JG4 in the afternoon via Kies, took ages to download, but finally...

To my utter surprise all contacts, msgs, Apps and settings were lost :confused:
was not prepared even a bit for this

So spent whole afternoon in restoring phone to earlier stage

As far as performance is concerned, I found earlier version better :confused:, may be due to whole lot of installations and changes.

Others please share your experiences

Please note that mine earlier version was JF6 not JF3

Along with bit poor performance Samsung gifted us few songs, a inbuilt task manager,a program monitor widget (That only works with TW)

Good to hear that its available for Odin also now everyone has got a free license to moding without worrying about warranties :)


Can someone please explain about classes of SD card. planning to get one soon...

Buddy i was saying that "modem file image" is included in the one tar file with other two (CSC and PDA"). thats y there is only one file and we dont need three files.
Nevermind the good thing is that we now can flash any firmware without worrying about warranties. Yippeeee.
