Help Samsung Galaxy S - Indian thread

Oh.. and btw i successfully managed to apply the Gadgetshieldz that Kalpik had suggested.. just installed the back part as i had already had a front scratch guard.. it is simply awesome! i think anyone who hasn't tried it yet should definitely go for it.. installation is a bit tricky but not too tough.. I can finally keep my phone on any surface without worrying abt it getting scratched! and it fits so perfectly that you can hardly even notice it!

Hi Friends, I have three queries, please help:

1.How can i see how much Data i have used over GPRS in Samsung galaxy? In my previous Nokia, samsung phones, same was available in the call log but in galaxy its not available... though i have downloaded an app called "Call meter NG" where I can see the details but wanted to know if there is a menu which I am missing out.

2. I have made my screen brightness as zero, wifi off, GPS off but there are no apps running (checked thru advanced Task killer) but still the battery gets drained out fast, any idea what can be the reason for the same.

3. My Maps never shows my location. It just says "Current Location not available". Tried this across locations like pune, mumbai. Yes, i do turn my GPS on while doing so but what can be the reason for the error?

Please help friends

I use an app called NetCounter, it gives me Monthly / 7 Days / Today data usage for both GPRS and WI-FI. I don't think there is anything inbuilt.

Battery tends to improve after a few battery cycles. Also the official DDJG4 firmware fares better in Battery usage (at least for me)

Try this:

Disable "Use Wireless Networks" - Settings / Location & Security
Dial *#*#1472365#*#*
Under "Application settings" Change "Operation Mode" to MS Based
Under "SUPL/CP Settings" Change the SERVER & PORT to supl.google.com and port 7276 [ Do not use www. in front of supl]
REBOOT

Make a note of the original settings before u change them.

I had the same issue when I tried upgrading the firmware. I then upgraded kies itself to the latest version and then did the firmware upgrade and all went well. Hope this helps.
