Help Samsung Galaxy S - Indian thread

Nick, what do you think ? What is the reason behind this delay ? Is there any chance for a better release ? May be they are worried about users' complains and trying to fix those......I don't know. What's your thought ?

I think they have realized that their phone has some real problems and they should fix it. or either they are just too lazy to bring out froyo on time.
either way we dont have any choice other than to wait. Samsung will be fool if they release shitty firmware again after this delay. But its sure that this phone is my last samsung phone.

But you know Nick even i had thought the same about samsung before.. (my previous 5 phones were nokia!) but the specs and especially screen of the Galaxy S blew my mind away! and now even though im pretty pissed with Samsung for their service i cant help but drool looking at the pic and specs of the S2! :o

May be I shouldn't ask this question in this forum.....anyway.....what about HTC service in all over India ? I got very bad reports from Kolkata users. And that is the reason I had to go for SGS.

True words !

The so called SGS2 is complete bogus ... There is absolutely no concrete proof on the specifications let alone of the phone itself ... Dont unnecessary get your bp up reading all bogus news ... :p

Marvell just released a tri-core processor today clocked at 1.5ghz ... 2 cores running at 1.5ghz and the third running at 620mhz. This is probably the fastest processor available in the market and its JUST been released ... So the question of a 2 ghz SGS2 sounds pretty far fetched ...

The Tegra2 is another good processor but will only hit phones in 2011 (There are only speculations that a phone powered by this processor will release by end 2010) ... Its currently powering tablets ...

Your SGS aint going anywhere for sometime ...

Hi guys, installed I9000XWJM8 with Tayutama Edition Lite v1.1 (without lagfix).....but I notice that now cpu is getting heated more (not heavily, but yes) than when it was DDJG4. Is it normal ?

PS: Sucking battery too !

Any suggestion Nick ??? Does it happen to you ?

Thanks mate....but it doesn't fulfill my demand. It's very embarrassing if someone can hear ring sound and *after* that the busy voice....they will think that I'm not receiving their calls intentionally.

have you tried tasker yet? i use it to automate the phone in a variety of ways. if you haven't, you surely should! best $5 ever spent

thanks a lot nick nd mama...but wt do i really do after using the toolbox
plz guide...kinda noob at all dis...
Install it and run the app.
Tap on "Check product code" --- this will also create your /efs partition backup on /sdcard which may save your phone's life later ;) Copy the newly created folder "ProductCodeCheck" to your pc/lap and archive it.
Tap on "Phone and battery info" and then on "Battery history" --- this will give you a very detail history of battery usage.
Tap on "GPS test menu" --- very useful too.
Tap on "CSC Selection" --- if you have multi-CSC this will work...select the indian CSC (I9000HKAINU).

Note: Many of these can also be done using secret codes.

Yep ! http://androidforums.com/1536447-post1470.html
But didn't test thoroughly. Can it block some particular calls ? When the caller calls it must be blocked before he hears any ring sound. If you test with SGS's default auto reject you can get what I say. I already tried a lot of call blocking apps....

rt now

That means you don't have any CSC installed or everything corrupted. What rom are you using ? Is it I9000XWJM8 with Tayutama Edition (which edition) or only I9000XWJM8 ?
If you updated with Tayutama Edition then did you hard reset (*2767*3855#) after using the update.zip ?
*Did you use any CSC when flashing ?
If everything fails download indian CSC from here: Deposit Files
Do a hard reset.
CODE, MODEM, CSC....fulfill every section carefully.
Check Re-Partition, Auto Reboot, F. Reset Time.
Reflash.
If use Tayutama Edition then hard reset after update.

^^Bro, I was a mega fan of nokia....all of my previous phones were nokia except last two. Now nokia is far far behind in technology. Their touch screen technology is bullsh*t comparing with samsung and apple. Still they are going for symbian....no other choice they have. Don't know what they are doing.

PS: No doubt they have superbbbbbb hardware...greatttt camera....I would be very proud to be an owner of NGS rather than SGS.....being a fan of nokia still I had to switch to samsung.

guys, apologies first to post this out of topic stuff..but I must say if only Nokia gets android to their wonderful, powerful and beautiful hardware, they gonna beat all other hands down

YouTube - Nokia E7- The Ultimate Business Smartphone

check this out....N8 and now E7

Now that is a good featured phone. Earlier reviews are saying that nokia E7 and n8 touchscreen is as good as any other phone. Also the screen is AMOLED +clear display screen. Also their Ovi Maps is best in the market.
I hope Nokia agrees to release their phone with android.

As an SGS user you will feel the difference. I used one of my friend's N8 for 2 days. Differences are there. It's not feather touch as samsung wave, galaxy s, or even samsung jet.

well, there will be difference as Nokia still far behind, I don't understand why they are not going with Android...maybe their hardware is not compatible but how can that be if companies like LG also going with Android.
I am sure if Nokia goes with Android, they can fine tune their powerful and beautiful handsets for touch sensitivity etc and can give us more options and if there are many options on market prices will go down and ultimately consumers like us will be benefited...
