samsung galaxy S or htc incredible S?

i had a samsung wave before my incredible s and it was a TERRIBLE phone.

i haven't had any experience of the galaxy s but the wave put me off samsung for life pretty much.

one thing i can say is that samsungs touchwiz is just f**king awful.

personally i don't know if the graphics chips are as different as that one guy made out - i havent had any issues playing games on my IS.

and about the super amoled screen - you would never have it on full brightness, because its simply too bright.

my IS is on around 30-40% most of the time and its perfect for me.

IS gets my vote.

edit. Oh and another thing to add - my IS gets GPS lock in seconds much like someone said above, on the wave i could have waited 5 minutes and not gotten locked on.

Also i dont see why people are complaining about the camera on the IS, i take great photos with mine - you just have to know how to use the settings correctly.

I see that the rating for the IS has increased from 3 to 3.5!! The club is growing and also has loyal followers now. Haha.

Why is the thunderbolt so popular as compared to IS? Is it any better in terms of specs? Looks like another variant of DHD. Just curious..

Thunderbolt is a verizon phone..it is a desire hd with kick stand and CDMA radios....no GSM i think....
fact is that verizon phones, of late, have been popular with their droid line up....and they r the best mobile service providers in US...

There was HTC EVO 4g...but that was for sprint...and as far my knowledge goes, verizon is a better service provider than sprint...

HTC is only winning such battles because of their software.. If they really wanted to be deserving winners, they should work on improving there hardware.

Deserving winners? lol Every time I interact with my phone, its via the software. The software is just as important, if not more important than the hardware.

I choose HTC for this reason.

I too chose IS for its software. But I wouldn't agree with you. You can always buy apps from the market and compensate for poor software.. but there is no replacement for poor hardware. I m not saying that IS hardware is poor, but there are phones with betters specs that are available..

That said, I love my device!

It is no secret that HTC Incredible is running on a single core processor, it has a SLCD screen (compared to super amoled in other handsets). Sound quality is not up to the mark... (I read somewhere that this has been an eternal issue with HTC, so I am disappointed that they havent done something about it...) Camera shots are average.

Anyone who reads a lot of text will prefer the SLCD over the Pentile based Super AmoLED's in many Samsung phones.

Regarding sound quality, the only issue is with the speaker phone not being very good. The regular speaker is perfectly fine.

I have the HTC Incredible S. I would suggest that you go for the HTC for the following reasons. The HTC has:

* more RAM than the Samsung.
* Higher resolution (high-definition) camera & camcorder.
* A front camera. The Samsung has no front camera.
* A flash (dual flash). The Samsung has no flash whatsoever.
* HTC Sense interface which compliments the Android platform perfectly instead of working against it and hogging resources
* more software revisions during the year which include enhancements to the overall user experience.

What makes you think that the microSD would be slow??????

Hope that helps.
can i know whether the IS camera and video recording solution same as desire hd camera even thought they are same in 8 megapixes and 720 hd recording?

Don't even touch the Samsung Galaxy S with 20 foot pole!! I am so utterly disappointed with it that (like some users here) have pretty much given up on Samsung for life except for LED Televisions....

The comments posted above really helped.... But this is going to be my first expensive phone, so I dont wanna hurry. Please logically provide me with a solution of the above. I am a fan of HTC Sense whereas I love the sound quality, screen and camera on the Arc. Also we knw that the front camera will not be coming into picture for somtime in India.

Also Suggest me the best handset in this range.. (if except these)upto 28k.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S and I agree with mynameisjj. I am disappointed with Galaxy S, mainly because:
  • Battery has been horrendous
  • Phone freezes/slows down constantly
  • Often get an error connecting to wifi
  • GPS often can't find location/or can't find satellites/or just freezes the phone, and I can't recover unless I pull the battery.

That's why I'm peeking here, to find what kinds of issues people are having with IS.

BTW my Galaxy S has front facing camera, and at first many apps didn't support it, but they do now...not that I ever use it.

I have used both and own and incredible S right now.Incredible is way ahead then the Galaxy in terms of user experience.Sense UI is simply miles ahead of stupid cartoonish iphone replica touchwiz..Its just the samsung is better at marketing their phones then htc and thats where customer gets fooled.Close your eyes and buy an HTC.

Hello friends...i'm damn confused between samsung galaxy s plus and htc incredible s. Samsung galaxy s plus runs on a 1.4 ghz single core processor and htc IS runs on 1ghz processor. But i'm confused by all reviews og both phones...some say galaxy is berrt thn IS and some say IS is better thn Galaxy.... I'm buying my first android phone please suggest me which one to buy....as per reviews i'm very confused...as i own a nokia c6 and a htc smart...both are worst phones...htc smart has many issues so regarding please tell if IS has any issues regarding software hardwares etc. As price rates of both samsung galaxy s plus anc htc IS are in range of 22k to 23k in my city's stores. So please suggest me a good reliable and durable and long lasting android phone.

I feel that Google Nexus S is a faster phone than Incredible S..
i have an IS and it feels slow..is it because of the HTC sense?
should i use a customized OS or something?
