Help Samsung Galaxy S2 battery drain problem ICS 4.0.3

Ok..so 2 months ago i updated my SGS2 from gingerbread 2.3.6 to ics 4.0.3...I used simple update method...just going to settings, about phone, software update, and used WiFi to update...(im from Serbia,Telenor networtk)And then, all the problems about battery started...Battery used to last for about day and a half, and now it can't even last for 24h!! :( I used loads of methods, like draining battery to 0 % and then re-charging it to 100 %,then charging it to 98 %,taking out the battery for 2 min's and putting it back in...and all methods with brightness, wallpaper's and all of that...i didn't have that problem on GB...I am really depressed about this, and if you can help somehow,i will really apreciate it...if i don't have any other solution,i will go back to GB but it will be hard for me to figure out how to that, because im not really genius for phones....Thanks in advance...:)

I have the same problem...I get half a day on my battery now!
The phone is also much slower...

I'd really appreciate any ideas...

Thanks.

I'm going to move this thread to the GS2 (International) Forum. :)
Have you tried doing a factory reset? I've read that doing that can get rid of strange bugs.

Samsung really sucks, their phone is expensive and overrated.
i am having the same problem with S2, charged fully for 4 hrs , did not touch it for 6 hours the battery is completely drained. what the f?

Has anyone found a solution for this yet? I can confirm that factory reset does NOT work. Nor does the draining the battery down to 0%, recharche, remove battery etc. I've tried several combinations of these fixes. And nothing does the trick.

I need help here! My samsung is amazing but with only around 10 hours battery it's pretty useless...

Slug has a guide that describes a few pointers on battery issues. Try them (if you haven't done so already) to keep your battery lasting longer than its current state:

@DoctorMike - the factory reset works for some - others aren't so fortunate. Those who have done it mentioned that the reset fixes most quirks after upgrading to ICS and battery drain was one of the fixes being mentioned... its just that there are no guarantees it will work for everyone.

I just cannot see what the issue is. I have tried virtually everything. Every guide, trick and tip that I could find online. Do you have any idea what the problem could be?

I have been using Samsung GS2 for six months and recently been suffering from severe battery drain. I would get just 8-9 hours on a full charge with very light use.
Went through the Internet and searched forums and finally hit jackpot.

Here's wht I did:
1. Calibrated the battery. I let the battery drain completely and allowed the phone to automatically shut down. Then charged the battery from zero till 100 per cent.
I did it three times over a week.
The last time I did this, once my battery was 100 per cent, I removed the battery, waited for 5 minutes, reinserted it and switched on.

2. Turned location services off
Go to Settings, Location services:
Untick Google's location service
Untick GPS satellites
Untick Location and Google search
(Unless u r using Google Navigation a lot u dont need these)

Optional settings:
3. If u want to desperately save battery life...
Turn Auto Sync off:
Settings-Accounts and sync
Turn it off

4.Turn wi-fil off during sleep
Settings--wifi--Advanced (menu key) Keep wi-fi on during sleep ---Never

These steps hve worked for me, especially the first two, hope u guys will find them useful.

Thanks
