Samsung Galaxy S2 does not boot.

Hi

So I have a problem with my Samsung Galaxy S2 (GT-I9100).
When turning it on it shows the Samsung Logo but afterwards turns off again.

I was able to access the recovery mode and do a cache & factory reset.
This didn't change anything.

Thus I decided to install CyanogenMod, as this worked wonders for my old phone.
I put my phone in Download mode (works too) and flashed the CWM-Recovery.
Getting to the recovery now only works while a power-source is connected — otherwise nothing happens — and takes quite a while. The battery is full though.
In CWM-Recovery (v6.0.2.9) I can start the installation of "cm-11-20150614-NIGHTLY-i9100.zip". But as soon as I get to "Installing package" the phone turns off again.

I haven't seen any descriptions of this behavior on the web, so I thought I'd just ask.

Does the phone stay turned on while in CWM? in just wondering if it's a hardware fault with the power button on such an 'old" phone

It does stay on while in the recovery-mode. I can remove the USB cable then too and it stays on. It also doesn't turn off when in Download mode.
Of course this doesn't exclude there possibly beeing a hardware fault. It might be triggered by an increased power consumption or something. In this case I guess I can't do anything about it.
