I remember reading somewhere something about a flash counter that should be reset to prevent problems? Where could I find out more about this and instructions on how to do so? Any information will be helpful, thanks.

i believe so, but why is this done and is it necessary?
The flash counter is something Samsung included to make it easier for service people to tell if the phone was rooted and or running a custom rom. That's really all it does and if the yellow triangle doesn't bother you, just let it be. It won't make a difference either way unless you need service for your phone.
