Help Samsung galaxy s2 i9100P orange uk ics update?

I'm not into rooting or anything like that, just to do it officially. I'm wondering if the update is out for the P variant? On my mac and 2 pc's an update is found but then the software just crashes and is not able to complete the update! Any help on doing so officially?

Is the update already out for the P variant on orange uk?

Hi I have the P variant on orange as well and I dont seem to be able to get the update to ICS.
I have tried using Kies air but cant see anything to do with an update.
when I go to about phone in settings and try to update from there I get a message that none is available

current android version is 2.3.4
model is GT-I9100p

any idea's?
 
Hi, the update to ICS on Orange is only available by doing it via a laptop/pc and the latest version of Kies. No over the air or by Wi-Fi direct to your phone. Go to the Orange site and look in the help and support section all the info you need is there plus a video.
 
I have a similar but slightly different problem to the OP.
I have Kies loaded in to 2 different PCs

On one of them, it suggests a upgrade is available, but as soon as I click to get it, it says it can't find the upgrade, it crashes.

On the other PC, it doesn't even say that there is an upgrade available.

It's a white I9100P on Orange, and it says I'm on Android version 2.3.4.
Would need to try again on the "first" PC to get correct details of which version it thinks I'm on, and what details of the upgrade it suggests is available.

another naive question - it's not going to work if I try (whilst not connected to the web) connecting my phone to the Kies of a friend who has already got ICS "saved" on their computer but has a different model of SII, right ?
