Help Samsung Galaxy S2 Internal Memory Problems

I've got the same issue with my I9100P (white SII):
Apps 0.91GB
Free Space 238MB

900-odd MB has gone missing somewhere.

I've looked at /data/ and it's completely empty?

I've downloaded several cache cleaners and apps like that and can't find any residual files anywhere.

Any other ideas?

I had the same problem with my Galaxy S2 and found a solution (that at least worked for me).

The memory space on my Simm card ran low every couple of weeks. I have read many threads and most of them suggested to re-install the software, which I did about 5 times. I have tried to solve the problem with a half a dozen other approaches but nothing has worked.

Recently, I installed a free Cache Clear App on my phone (the one I use is programmed by a Tracoty but there are certainly others available), which I setup so that it automatically clears the cache files every day.

Surprise, surprise, this solved the problem!!!

It seems that the internet browser and other applications save cache files on the Simm card and at some point the phone runs out of memory. Sensless but true...

Emphatical, you mention that for the fix to work, the top of the screen needs to state "mounted as r/w". Mine states "mounted as r/o" and I don't see an option to change it. Any advice?

Hi all
A simple way to free up storage space is by deleting all the log files in the device memory. Just dial *#9900# on your phone and select option 2

Too easy to fix! I had the same problem & was dreading trying some of the fixes offered. Then I found this fix thats so easy. Samsung probably won't give it to make peeps buy new phones... PIGS! Anyways... here it is...

Go to phone dialer key pad & type & enter... "*#9900#" - without the "". That is... star, hash, 9, 9, 0, 0, hash. A drop down menu will appear & the second option is "delete dumpstate/logcat" select this option & press ok.

Thats it! Done... that easy! I have my Galaxy back... YAY!!!!!.

Hi all , I spent hours and $$ trying to fix my storage problem. If only I had found this forum a few weeks ago. Please spread this easy and simple

Hi there,

Recently got my Samsung Galaxy S2 (first Android phone).

I've been using it for the past week but have noticed that my 16GB of internal storage has become full. I have bought a 16GB external memory card to put music etc. on and when I check what is in the internal memory when plugged into my computer, it doesn't add up - there can't be any more than 1 or tops 2GB saved to it.

I have around 30 apps and they are all pretty small so it can't be that.

This is making accessing my music and downloading new files pretty much impossible so as you can imagine, it's pretty annoying.

Just wondering if anyone has got the same problem or if anyone knows what my problem is?

Cheers.

Thank you to all
