Samsung Galaxy S2 settings question

ok I had to send my wifes phone in and since she got it back it was updated to android 4.1.2 . now everytime she gets a text it wakes the screen up. And i will be darned if I can figure out how to shut that off any help?

Open the text messaging app, press the menu button and scroll down towards the bottom. You should see an option to turn the screen on. Uncheck that box.

That's what I thought to but that is not an option.
