Help Samsung Galaxy S4 camera upsidedown

Ok so I was having the same issue on my S5. The camera was completely upside down and the screen rotation wasn't working at all. I was reading posts and did everything (besides to a reset) I could do on my phone. Ones persons answer was that he physically hit his phone and it started working again. So considering it was worth a shot I held the top of the phone with my left hand and gave it a little smack on its arse and it seriously worked. So before you go reseting or sending it out for repair, give it a little spanking and it'll do the trick.
Registered to say thank.. This worked on my galaxy note 4

Signed up to say this still works..I smacked the phone on the back and bam it rotated it back to normal. LOL unsure how that worked but it seems to be working for plenty of people - SAMSUNG GALAXY S4 phone.

Having same issue on S4 Android 5.0.1......Camera on home screen was upside down, all controls upside down, screen rotation didn't work. My simple fix was a restart of the phone. All good now. Hope this helps someone else :-)

Thank you so much. It's now working properly again. I remembered that I knocked my phone a few days ago! So I banged it again hey presto it turned and righted it's way up befor my very eyes...

I tried a number of things as suggested and found the soft drop works. why does it work, this is due to the accelerometer which appears to be jammed. To check this download an accelerometer tester app. If the balls (these were the visual testers) only stayed at one end of your screen instead of rolling round then yes your accelerometer is stuck. The soft drop option worked for me and I dropped it onto its end nor on its flat back. Hope this helps others
