There isn't a great deal of information here.

It would be helpful if you were to describe what you did that you regard as the "correct procedure". It would also be useful to mention whether you are using the stock SMS client and which version of Android you have on your S4.

And in the future it would be helpful to use a title to the thread that is somewhat descriptive. "Samsung Galaxy S4" doesn't tell us anything at all about your problem. Presumably every post in this forum is about an S4.
