I have already made a post about this but it won't let me reply on it.

"My phone was fine all day yesterday and when i went to use it last night the screen won't respond. My power button, sound buttons, home button and menu/back buttons all still work. I don't understand why it won't let me unlock the phone as I didn't drop it yesterday and it isnt water damaged.

I have tried removing the battery and nothing seems to happen:(

Can you try starting it in safe mode?

. Power the phone off.

2. Once the phone is off , press and hold the Power button to turn the S4 back on.

3. When the Galaxy S4 logo appears on the screen, press and hold the Volume Down button.

4. Continue to hold the Volume Down button until the phone completely boots. You will see the words “Safe Mode” appear in the lower left corner of the screen if you performed the steps properly.

This didn't work either :/ my screen comes on and i have messages coming through it just wont register that im trying to swipe or touch the screen

It sounds like a hardware problem and needs to be professionally repaired. Last thing I wold try is a factory reset. This will wipe all of your data so see if you can connect it to Samsung Kies3 to back up your device, first.

To factory reset your device refer to option 3 here https://www.androidpit.com/how-to-factory-reset-the-galaxy-s4-for-better-performance

If that works, use Kies3 to restore your data

It has just randomly decided to start working again now. No idea what made it flip out like that thanks for your help!:D

Glad all is OK now. Make sure you do regular backups of important data just in case it totally fails;)

Barely 2 weeks on and my phone is doing the same thing again!!!
It has been working fine and I dropped it this morning and my screen isnt working. I only dropped it off my bed and I'm pretty sure it's had worse drops but seems to have chosen today to stop working again.

I dont know what to do as i still have another year on my contract but I can't be doing with it keep breaking like this :eek::eek:
Do you think thank if I took it back into the shop they'd be able to fix it??

It could be something as simple as a loose ribbon connector, but it might also be a sign that the repeated drops have damaged the LCD. Best advice is to get it looked at by a qualified tech.

Are those kinds of things expensive to repair??
