what do you mean setup? Its not recommended using the rapid charger right now on the edge as it is causing the phone to overheat and spoil the rotation.

I use the Adaptive Rapid Charger that was included with my phone and it's absolutely fine.

The charger came with the phone. It's a power block and cable that work together to rapid charge the phone. That's the only way to do it.

How long have you been using the rapid charger? My rotation just recently went out after a month of using the rapid charger.

I actually use it very rarely. Maybe once or twice every couple weeks. I use my wireless charger more often than anything. I figured anything causing the Lithium Ions to be charged faster than they're supposed to be isn't good long-term for the battery.

I didn't have any other charger around me minus the fast charger so I had no choice but to use it, low and behold barely a month with the edge the rotation now goes out.

Right. Won't rotate unless within an app that forces rotation.

Try downloading "rotation lock adaptive free" and set rotation to "stock auto" and hit save. Then uninstall the app. The problem seems to be S6 Edge specific.

Unfortunately it's a no go for me.
Reports that I've seen from that thread only work on the s6 (not edge)

As others have stated, by using the hardware test, you can see that the accelerometer is stuck. To verify, enter "*#0*#" in your phone app to enter hardware test mode. Touch "Sensor". The X, Y and Z for the accelerometer must all change in rapid succession as you rotate your phone. If any are stuck on 32767 or -32768, you have a HARDWARE problem which cannot be fixed by updates of software/firmware of ANY kind.

The accelerometer is the very top acceleration sensor listed. X and Y should basically flip flop when you go between vertical and horizontal.
Edit: I think the Y value being where it's at indicates a sensor failure. I cannot get mine much past 10 no matter what I try.

Y stays at 39.2 no matter if it's vertical or horizontal, that's awesome.

Definitely a bad accelerometer then, sorry to say. I'll be at a month with mine Friday and have been using only the fast charger. Hoping mine isn't next....

Good luck and hope it isn't, probably gonna opt for a $200 replacement via insurance soon lol
