Help Samsung galaxy y back button problem

pls help! my samsung galaxy y back button stopped working. what should i do? i reset my fone but it didnt work. i even restore factory settings still it didnt work. pls help me :(

It's a hardware problem you may need to contact the samsung Service Center..I had the same problem i just pressed tightly at the bottom of phone and restarted..and it worked..

maybe it's a hardware problem. do you have a screen protector on your screen? do you ever change it to a new one. I have the same problem before, I thought it was a firmware bug. But when I change my old screen protector to a new one, and I realize that it's because of the screen guard, it lessen the sensitivity of my screen and then the problem is gone. and until now, I never encountered with that problem. so maybe it'll work on you. And I suggest that you buy a Clear screen protector, not the scratchproof one.

this i a good advice, don't touch your phone while your hand is wet. make sure that when you touch your phone it's dry. because it will absorb the moist outside and it may lessen the sensitivity of the screen. :))

If it is really a problem with the back button, you can use Button Savior until you can give your phone to repair.

I supposed to post this problem.. but mine if the back button is not working my menu button is not working too.. I just wait until it works. tsk tsk
How about the other samsung touch screen? are they having the same problem?

u can use an app called buttonremapper, with this u can use home button or any other button as back button. u can find it in galaxyygaming site

HI
I have got same problem... I removed the screen guard slightly from bottom.. & touched the screen ... It was working fine.. I had purchased the Rainbow scratch guard.

Its funny that rest of screen guard touch functions are working fine... The problem is only with menu & back button :(

1. Please help to suggest any screenguard that would be good to purchase.. I believed screen guards work for lifetime...

2. Also, can someone technically tell me how is it that the main touchscreen is working fine.. the problem is with the menu & back button & that is because of the screen guard.. ?? Whats going on.. There are no air bubbles around that place :-S
Do I need to keep purchasing new screenguards of Rs 100 every two months :-S

got the same problem, what is did is i used factory reset

Press Volume Up + Home Button + Power On

choose Factory Reset Option, all data will be lost.. but in the other side, your back button will work just the way it is

i have the same problem too.. my galaxy y is now 4 months and i experience the problem just aboth the last 3 weeks.. when i use my phone after a few hours my back/menu button are not working... after 10 seconds or more or less.. it works fine... really... what is causing the problem? the screen guard?

I am facing same problem....

When I reset phone, it works fine, but after playing videos the problem occurs again.
Two of my friends are facing the same.

there was some kind of a protective (i guess) shield on the back key on my sgy and there's also one on the menu key. the shield is only on this two keys i don't have a screen shield. but i accidentally removed the one on the back key. it's still working (probably batter than ever) but i was wondering if anyone of you had the same thing on there sgy and did you have any problems later with the key?

and also, do you think i should get a screen shield and does it make the screen sensitivity lower?
