Help Samsung i7500 latest firmware for india

Dear friends:

I am from India and the samsung galaxy phone i purchased last week has firmware - I7500DDII3. Is this the latest one or do we have any upgrade to this firmware for Indian region. If there is one or any alternative, where can i download it and how do i update my phone with the new firmware?

Also, wanted to check if custom ROM's like GALAXHERO Ver 1.1 supported for india?? Is GALAXHERO Ver 1.1 & II5 firmware regio specific by any chance??

I would sincerely await your most valuable inputs for this query of mine.

were you able to update firmware or the new ROM ? I am also from India, and own a galaxy. Please let me know any updates on i7500 related..

I am too from india........
I too have the II3 firmware
gave my Galaxy to samsung service centre to update the firmware
the guys at service centre told that they will update the firmware if any update is available for indian region...
will comment about the new firmware update within 3 days

so these were my phone details hope they will hep any of u to help me out.

i read in this forum that d upgrade for samsung galaxy,andriod 1.6 version is available.
1.is it official release.
2.is it in english.
3.can i back up my data.
4.if d upgarde is unsuccessful is there any way to return back to my previous version.
5.does the bluetooth file transfer work with 1.6.
6.i am not able to connect my phone to pc using d micro usb.any suggestions.is it necessary to use d pc suite everytime to connect to pc.
7.when connected to pc using usb,2 folders E and F poped up but they wouldn't open however i try.d properties show 0 data and is asking to insert disk.
8.how to upgrade to 1.6 procedure.


plz plz guys help me out.................

You won't get any different answer in here than you have in the other thread you asked the same questions in.

I do have the same firmware....I7500DDII3
I don't want to update my firmware since for me, it is okey
I want to root my phone.
Can anybody give me a link how to root.
 
I7500DDII3... stuck with old thingy.. don't want to void the warranty... waiting of Donut (forever).. Even if they launch Donut firmware, dunno when they'll launch in India.. and the current NPS sucks... does nothing other than detecting the phone...

So waiting for a better NPS and Donut... if nothing works out then got to scrap the warranty :(

One morething..........I am using TataDocomo in my I7500.
As of now, I am using pdanet to access internet on my laptop.
Can anybody suggest me anyother way to use internet without doing anything to myphone...........

After connecting to PC you'll see USB Icon in Top of the Galaxy. Just click and drag down. Then You need to mount the SD Card. Just click Mount and you'll get the SD Cards as Thumb Drives. Then you can copy files(JPG/MP3/3GP/MP4).

I realy disappointed on File Manager/Blue Tooth file Transfer/ .WMV, .AVI File Support which are missing. :(

Anyway am waiting to update the latest Andriod Version. :o I can't waste my 16K Mobile (@ Bangalore on 7th March 2010). Saw in Univercell site that it's about 14+K Only.. :((
 
Today i checked Samsung website and found Phone Software update available for I7500, has anybody tried that? if tried what are all the changes. please let me know is it worth updating.
 
SAMSUNG New PC Studio,PC Sync 1.0 Jul.07.2009 110.3 MULTI LANGUAGE Win 2000/XP
This is too old. They had one in March 2010, guess they removed it. But that too didn't have any updates.
