Samsung i7500 will not get official 2.1 forever

Could you possibly have posted this (depressing :() news in one of the countless existing Android-2.1-on-Galaxy threads...? :rolleyes:

Well, that was pretty much expected. However, with an official 1.6 and its source, GAOSP might do the job, if it continues to be developed.


Anyway, I'd be more than happy just to have Android 1.6 with no flaws.
 
actually i dont see any cause to wait for 1.6 other than getting gaosp complete. the new market is not that important to me, i did a test of 1.6 and had it runing for 2 days then went back to italy custom rom. only thing that i am missing (but also not that much) is full bluetooth support and that is only present in 2.1.

1.6 is a good upgrade for Wifi networks, 1.5 does not support WPA2 Enterprise networks, which are used in enterprises (duh) and on a lot of school campuses. The camera is also supposed to be faster, but that's not so important IMO.

I don't really care for the new market either.
 
I think 1.6 is good for you for now. Remember when hero and other popular htc devices will be updated to 2.x this will end 1.6 support.

So In my opinion 1.6 update is a funny joke from samsung.
