I made sure TouchWiz was set as default and that kies was set under USB settings, then I just connected it to Kies and it worked.

Download Home Switcher from the market, lets you select the default launcher, quite handy when testing different launchers.

I use launcher pro as well. I don't have to set touchwiz as default just launch it. FYI you might not have to set it as default either...just will save you a small bit of time.

I downloaded the new version, but when it tries to connect to my phone it still gives me the message "The device is not supported by Kies". I am not running any other launcher but Touchwiz, though I am running the leaked Froyo, could that be the reason it's not accepting it?

Same boat as you socalrailroader....I have Cog 2.2 beta 2. I think when I flash back to stock it will recognize it.

i cant even get kies to run on my computer, much less get to the point of recognizing the phone. i've mentioned my problem in several threads and never had a reply. guess i should try on XBD(sp?) forum. seems more of a coding thing clashing with something on my comp
