Help Samsung KIES fails

"Samsung Android USB Modem" - failed
"MTP USB Device" - failed

I have installed "mini-KIES" to my W7 32bit desktop computer. I cannot initiate the connection with my Galaxy-S Vibrant. I tried this months ago with some other version of KIES and had the same errors as today. Sadly, little progress has been made on this utility.

I have read the forums but really don't understand what I am supposed to be doing. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Try uninstalling Kies Mini, make sure your antivirus/firewall is disabled, reinstall Kies Mini, and restart your computer. After you restart your computer, run Kies mini to let it update, enable USB debugging mode on your phone before connecting it. Hope this helps.
