Help Samsung Kies

Anyone installed Samsung Keis I cannot seem to get it to work using USB cable which is my prefered connection the GT-N7100 device driver software was installed correctly however this text box appears

Unsupported connection mode alert

Reconnect the device in Samsung Kies (PC Studio) mode. Current connection mode not supported by Kies. Check the USB settings, (Settings->Applications->Development-> USB debugging(x))

Please connect a device

Any ideas?

I contacted support yesterday 9th to see if they had an answer to the above problem they replied wanting to know serial number etc,etc my PC specs are fine so is this a software issue and not compatible with the new galaxy note it will work via Wifi if I install Kies on the phone my PC will then display all the info that is on the Phone...but will wait and see if they resolve the cable solution

For anyone who is interested Samsung Kies have updated their software Now Version 2.5.0.12094_28 and it works now via USB cable connection

Kies does not work on my Sony Vaio VGN-AW41XH_Q with USB connection to my Galaxy Note N71XX.
Brand new Kies installed and no update available.
Does Kies do anything good or just waste time and space?

Kies Air is better you can use Wifi PC and the phone at least you can view all your files

I am also an Android newby and Kies worrys me.
I have not installed it as looking around I see some users happy and others VERY unhappy.
Can someone explain why I should have kies and how it will improve my user experience

There really is no reason to have Kies. I'm trying to find something nice to say about it however, I can't come up with anything.

What you mind find more useful is AirDroid. It'll transfer files via wifi as well as allow you to check your SMS/call history, view photo and pretty much everything on your phone.

Well my new note did not update is firmware until I got kies working and connected, now it has the latest update so it's not really right saying there's no rain to have it. Also it sends movies well to the device.
