Root Samsung M930 Transform Ultra

I need Help to root my sprint SPH-M930 with Android 2.3.6. I apologize for being a newbie. I have Modded / Flashed other devices, however not a phone. I have tried Transformdatphone, One Click, Mad Samsung. Neither of these programs can copy to my phone. Like the phone's security is blocking. I'm under the impression this might because of 2.3.6 /GingerBread. I have software, like Odin do I have to flash this device to a downgrade to root? I was wanting to backup image first, before I do a custom ROM. Plus I'm trying to avoid bricking device too, lol. Your expertise and advice is greatly appreciated.

Loota, thank you for your help teaching me the installation of Odin, CWM and rooting my sprintTranform 2.3.6. I have watched your video! I want to send special thanks to Badsector and all the others as you mentioned.

I tried some of the ROMS, but the ones I got to work seemed to be for Tmoblie, rather than my sprint. I backuped my system with CWM, prior to flashing Shevron and DaveCrow Roms. However got a few hit and misses in those areas. Kept getting the mismatch error. Even on my 1st backup, so I lost my original backup, because of this error. Anyway I restore to stock and restalled CWM and rooted.

So I very pleased with this site and members. Not sure if I could every help (Not a Developer) other than donating. Which I plan to do soon, Donating is on my priority list!!! Thats the least I can do. I'll keep reading and I'm sure I will find out what I'm doing wrong with installing Custom ROMs. Thanks to everyone who makes this possible for us newbies!!

NP, are the backup files in a directory that has a space in the name?

ie they should be in /clockworkmod/backup/ not in /clock work mod/ back up/

also the name of the folder they are in cannot have spaces or funky characters either. if you absolutely have to rename them then do it like this...

/clockworkmod/backup/shevronrom5.3.1/

not

/clockworkmod/backup/shevron rom 5.3.1/

or this

/clockworkmod/backup/$hevronrom5.3.1/

who knows $hevronrom5.3.1 might be valid name but the $ may throw up a red flag in the md5 checker in cwm.
