Help Samsung Note 2 question!!-how to split screen

hey guys wanted to bring this thread up since its relevant and i didnt wanna make another one...

but... i still cant split my screen!... my phone is LJ2

help!!
 
@Miss V did your carrier push out an update that enables multi view? Do you see multi view in your notification toggles?

no i dont have it... thats why its weird that some people had it back in october over an update and i am not getting any updates... hmmm

1.
If holding the BACK button doesn't start the multi-view tab, pull down the notification bar and then scroll the toolbar over to the far right to reveal an on/off toggle for multiview. Only when it is ON here will the back-button-hold work.

2.
You can click the EDIT button at the bottom of the multiscreen tab to REMOVE the ones you never use. (and you can drag them back later.) But you can't add any other apps to the multiview bar.

I had JUST looked through some of the posts, but did not see a detailed direction. Since I worked through research via Samsung, and found the answer, I thought I would place it in case some other was having the same problem.

It's not a matter of only so many apps being able to be in the bar, it's whether or not an app is compatible with the feature. Samsung left it up to each developer to make it compatible, of course that's if you haven't rooted or modified the apps themselves.
 
The slit screen is an ok addition but it would be better if they had gone for floating apps then you could use them like you do on a laptop/desktop and have several open at one time.

There's a handful of 3rd party apps that do that. I like using a Youtube one so I can watch while doing other things.

Didn't Samsung had an official app for that? I heard that that app only applies to note 2, s3 and maybe the upcoming s4.

I came across one not too long ago, but I can't remember which it was.

There is the pop-up note feature when removing the S-pen on the N2. The main problem with it is that you can only start a new (pop-up) note. To view or edit it after initially making it, you have to use the main app.

You can also press the S Pen button and double tap the screen to get pop up S Note. Because of this, I have that option disabled when taking the S Pen out.

The Note 10.1 has cascading multi window view up to a maximum of 5 windows. I use this a lot. I think the Note 2 doesn't have this because of the small screen. Though I don't know why they omitted it from the Note 8.0. I'm sure it is more than capable of utilizing it with its screen size.

Thanks for reminding me, I forgot about the double tap feature.
