Help Samsung S2 down the loo :(

Hi All,

I threw my phone down the loo by accident of course, Don't worry. I was due an upgrade and ordered a nice S3.

How ever I can't get my contacts off, any ideas?

welcome to AF! it depends if you did backups?

Were they backed up with Google? If you don't know I'm sure that's the default.

Otherwise you could open the phone and give it a couple of days in a bag of uncooked rice to dry it and see. I mean it's dead - water damage is fatal - but maybe you can get it back long enough to export contacts to sd.

If your phone was sync'd with your Google account they will appear on whatever phone you sign into your account on in future.

As for your toilet phone... see here.

Not making fun of your misfortune, but there is another thread today (in Nexus forum) about Nexus plunging down the loo. The recovery was successful and phone didn't suffer any bad faith.
I'm just curious, you wouldn't happen to be related, would you ?

Thanks for all your replys, i will try on the google account. I opened a new account just for the phone rather than my everyday email account, I hope I can remember the password. I am not sure if I sync'd it, hopefully I did :-S .

The nexus user was not related that I am aware of but my sister has done the samething twice so maybe it is genetic.

I have unfortunatly tried the rice thing. I had a glimmer of hope after a few days and it all switched back on but got very hot and the battery wouldn't charge. And now nothing its just dead

Ok so I have logged in to my google account on the computer .... Where would my contacts be?

If you go to Gmail via web browser there's a pull-down top left. Says Gmail - select and one of the options is Contacts

I always have problems finding Contacts until I read Hadron's post!

Very clever ironass ... with that witt its quite possible you are my brother I just thought maybe my phone contacts would have been seperate to my gmail contacts,

Like a true amature I have not backed them up, what with that and the lack of insurance on the phone I have really learnt my lesson.
