Help Samsung sync through

Add me to the list too. Kies Air Messages told me that it had downloaded an update for my phone but whenever I try to connect my phone to Kies to install the update it just gets stuck on "connecting".

I'm also running Win 7 Home Premium 32 bit. I've tried the other recommendations in the thread like removing the external SD card and turning off USB debugging. I've tried restarting my phone and my laptop, updating windows components like .Net framework, reinstalling Kies etc. Nothing seems to work.

Just joined as this was the very first hit on google for this issue. I tried removing the SD card and it worked, but I wanted to know WHY it worked so I kept on playing around.

I have about 500mb of stuff on my internal memory, and around 8gb of stuff on my external card. With the SD card unmounted it still took around 30 seconds for me to see the phone contents and sync options etc. This got me thinking, what if the amount of time it takes to "load" corresponds to the amount of memory that is being used in the phone.

With that in mind I decided to mount my SD card and re-connect my phone via Kies Wifi. I just left it to it and forgot all about it. Around 10 minutes later I looked back on Kies and sure enough, it had loaded and I could sync etc. Now, everything is slower than a week in the jail due to the sheer amount of stuff I have on my memory card (viewing music etc), but it definitely does work.

My recommendation would be to forget using the Kies Wifi option unless that is your only viable option. It's so slow it makes it absolutely pointless and the fact that it will take up to half an hour to connect, I'm only using a puny 8gb, it make it quite useless.

Anyway, hope that helps close off his issue :)

When I first purchased my Galaxy S III, it ran Kies over Wifi with no problem. It took about 15 or 20 sec to fully connect and give the opening screen showing memory usage, etc. After the first update to ICS, Kies appeared to lock up and not show the opening screen. If I left it for a while, Kies would abort the connection. I didn't notice any difference with any of the Kies updates.

Yesterday I upgraded to Jellybean and after sorting out my contacts again (a ton of contacts that I previously deleted reappeared after the update-- ???) I thought I'd give Kies over Wifi another shot. I even did a clean install of Kies on a different computer. Well, it did finally give me the opening screen but it took over 7 min to do it. I tried it a few times and timed it each time and it's around 7:20 each time.

Better off using the USB cable unless you're really desperate.

I encounter the same problem of kies via wifi. After many hours trying I found some ways to solve this problem.

I think this problem is caused by some "bad" files in sd card, because every time I reset my phone to factory default, the kies via wifi can work very well, as well as via usb. the problem only appears after I copy a lot of files to the sd card. I use a 32GB card, and copy nearly whole years my working documents in it. So in order to avoid to cause the problem, you'd better add a dot in your folder name. and place '.nomedia' in each folder.

However, when the problem has appeared, like someone said, even if you remove the card physically, it still doesnt work. but after reinstalling kies in your computer, and it always can work again. I guess when Kies via wifi doesn't work, It write some "bad" information in you computer.
