Help Samsung Tab2 7" hangs on upgrade

I have a Samsung Tab2 7" GT-P3110, which just downloaded update software. Updating seemed to be going OK, but it has stopped for three hours with message:

Android is upgrading ...

[a stationary circle] Optimising app 1 of 99.


What should I do? Any help appreciated.

Not sure how its done on your tab, maybe hold in power, to make it reboot?
it shouldnt be taking that long, maybe a second for each app

Hi Funky,

Thanks for the suggestion. I left it on overnight (with power cord attached), and it switched itself off. When I switched it on, it started with the same screen (but with 101 apps??), and went through the apps at about one per second. After that all seems well. Phew!
