Help Samsung Transform Ultra Messaging Problems?

Hi all, I recently just purchased my first Android phone a few days ago through Boost Mobile, the samsung Transform Ultra.

The phone has been great; the browsing, the calls, the apps....but I can't receive texts from certain people.

There doesn't seem to be a pattern, it randomly wont receive texts from certain people. For example: when my friend with the iPhone sends me a text, I'll never get it. days go by, still haven't received their messages. I can receive picture messages, but not regular texts. Same thing with my brother who has the BlackBerry.

I have done a master reset, a factory reset and erase, and I've spent many hours talking to boost trying to fix this to no avail. I'm currently running Android Version 2.3.4.

Any help would be much appreciated, I bought this phone for the messaging!

EDIT: I also have installed Handcent, created an account with them, and linked my phone number, but nothing has worked so far.

Not to say that text messages not being recieved hasn't happened before but have you tried to send texts to your self from their phone? Maybe try with and without areacode?

If you have a new account and especially if you ported a phone number it might take a few days for text messaging to work right. When I ported my number from AT&T I could text back and forth people on Sprint in a few hours but texts from other carriers took several days.
