Help samsung vibrant call waiting

Why is it when you are talking to someone and you get a call waiting, the person you are initially talking to, also hears the call waiting alert as well. I don't think thats right. Anyone know anything about this??

Pretty normal for Rogers and Bell to do that here in Canada.
Doesnt sound like its an issue.

Unless, you try to avoid the other person on the line and you tell them you got a call, but then they're like, UHHH I DIDNT HEAR THE CALL WAITING SIGNAL and then you're screwed because the other person knows when you are lying.

EXACTLY! or if you're on the phone trying to do a business call without interruptions or talking to a g/f and all you hear is "aren't you gonna get that?". I have tmobile and this never happened on my prior samsung phone. This really sucks, i'm beginning to question having the vibrant simply for this issue, that should have never been an issue in the first place!
