Samsung Within AND Epic 4G II coming Q3 2011

I don't really see a big reason to jump to the epic2. Would imagine it'd be samoled + and it better be slimmer and have better build quality (though my epic is still holding up fine. I'd want abetter keyboard layout, like ditching the reptitive capacative buttons for better staggered key spacing and keys wth better grip.

I was eally looking for a gs2 with a keyboard. In my eyes it's now not in the same premium class. And the bad news would be if it doesn't sell well (because it's not enough of an upgrade), will inot get supported and will it not have a successor?

This should be an S2 with a keyboard, dedicated camera button, notification light, etc.

Ummm...no. single core 4" screen. Not a gs2. Read the proposed specs. Minor incremental upgrade.

This is all mere speculation at this point. One can still have their hopes up. If it turns out to suck, I'll just get the Within. The keyboard is very nice, but I can use a phone without one just fine.

The new Nexus is supposed to be made by Samsung and be 4.5 in. With "Super Amoled HD" which is Super Amoled over 720p display (Not video recording) and hopefully coming to Sprint or All carriers.

Google's first Ice Cream Sandwich phone to be manufactured by Samsung, possibly dubbed 'Nexus Prime'

But it's also a rumors so I wouldn't get my hopes up too high.
I wonder if this is what the BB Regional manager was hinting to me about. He said it would be coming to all carriers sometime around September'ish.

Anyone else think that maybe the "Full Touch" is the rumored edge to edge phone Apple is suing over? It kinda makes sense since its not suppose to have any buttons on the front and be full touch phone. Plus there hasnt really been any leaks about the GS2. Just throwing it out there.

Apple is suing them for the phones that are already out like the SGS2 and pretty much any TouchWiz phone. And I think by "Full Touch" they mean a phone with no KB or non-capacitive buttons

I can't wait for Google to sue Apple for copying Android's notification system. What goes around comes around.

P.S.
Any word on changes to that supposed July 24 release for the Within?

The Within will be the top tier phone with the Epic II as a second tier phone probably. Like HTC is doing with the EVO3D and Kingdom.

Also, not that it wouldn't be awesome but I think a lot of these reports about the Nexus 3 are exaggeration. Some of the claims they're making are outlandish in my opinion.

It's a shame then the Epic 2 would be considered a 2nd tier phone when there are no other premium sliders (unless the LG coming is a slider g2x) and a plethora of premium slates.

I don't think the kingdom or epic 2 will be considered second tier.
dual core is not mandatory for a top tier device.

It might not be a requirement, but the Epic's hummingbird is no slouch and we have an incremental upgrade in comparison to just about every other premium phone out there. Just look at the Droid 3. That is a premium phone especially compared to its predecessor. The Epic was a Galaxy S phone and the Epic 2 is a far cry from a GS2 phone which is a premium with a larger and better screen, dual core and much better design than the 1st go around. And if the LG coming is a Gx2 slider it then plays second fiddle to it. So lesser specs than the premium slates and possibly lesser specs than a competing slider. Sounds 2nd tier to me. It would end up ranking 3rd on the list of 4" sliders then when it was on top of a lonely hill until now.

you should be happy the epic is getting an upgrade and sprint is still supporting it :)
the days of high end slider phones may be numbered.

so far i am not impressed with dual core but will wait and see what the devs can do with it (e3d).

Yeah, the end is near....Droid 3? Possible G2x slider? Rumored HTC G2 replacement on T-Mobile?
And my Tegra2 Transformer is pretty peppy.
