I see what youR saying, the instinct left a horrible taste in my mouth though.
I know what it feels like when a device much hyped does not deliver in terms of quality. All I can suggest is scratch off the past. Take Samsung as a renewed brand in mobile market, read their phone's reviews, check those phones out like you will for a fresh company. And when users get their phones and some complaints start popping up in user forums (which imminently will, always happens), don't declare the phone or brand a failure. New phones almost always have some issues. iPhone, Palm Pre, HTC EVO - all of these had their share of hardware/software issues when they were released. iPhone, which is by now a much established phone, had issues crop up even in their 4th generation as well. So problems do happen when a new phone model hits the shelves and Galaxy S lineup already has its share of problems coming up, like GPS one, but this is part of the drill and hopefully, if its not a hardware problem, GPS issue will be resolved soon. So let the Samsung phones mature a bit in the market. Then see what kind of support is coming from samsung and developer community and then decide if samsung is for you or not. No phone would ever be able to please every single person. If you find EVO meeting your needs and pleases your heart, by all means keep an Evo. But if you find Samsung phones delivering some promise, you just might like to ride the samsung bandwagon once again. Whichever way you choose to you - good luck!!
