San Diego resident quick question

Ill be out there for the next four days leaving tomorrow. I'm trying to find out what beach has the best crowd (most active beach)

Mission Beach and Carlsbad are big on surfing if you're into that kind of thing. San Onofre was another that I visited that had a decent amount of people but it was mostly just people walking around or playing with their pets.

I ended up at Mission. Crazy packed! Ill be hitting up that beach everytime I visit SD.

Love Mission Beach! Lived in Pacific Beach for several years while we were stationed at Miramar. It gets packeddddd there though. Love the beach, just not ALL the crazy people! ;-)

never had that luxuary of being stationed oin a nice base. i was in 29 palms for 3 1/2 years before going on the MSG program

We had some good ones and some not so good ones. Funny enough though the ones that most people think are the good ones are the ones I didn't like very much, and the ones that are the bad ones are the ones I fell in love with (it was a slow process though! lol).

Did you enjoy MSG duty? I have several friends who have done it and 2 that are currently doing it. It seems to be a feeling of about 50/50, love/hate.

Why did you want to go to a beach that was packed with people? I always prefer going to beaches that are more relaxing. My favorite beach in SoCal would have to be Santa Monica. Least favorite beach: Venice. My favorite beach though at SD is Coronado for the water. I'm not sure what's in the sand but it literally looks like gold shimmering in the water. The sand is bad though because it's so fine. On a windy day... terrible combination.

I went to Santa Monica about two months ago (if that) and it was packed. I rather have a lot of ppl then an empty beach. Venice is a popular beach but dirty!
