Handcent and ChompSMS are both good messaging apps, I use Chomp but there's a lot of love for Handcent out there.

Other apps to customise your phone and make it 'yours':

1. LauncherPro Plus - custom Homescreens, docks and widgets
2. FolderOrganizer - custom icons, folders and shortcuts
3. Beautiful Widgets - some great clocks, dates and weather widgets, all with lots of custom skins and colour options.

I also use SwitchPro to control phone settings,

3G Watchdog keeps track of your data use

Internal Memory Widget and SD Card Memory Widget tells you about memory and storage usage

Google Sky Map - totally cool app!

BattStatt - great text widget showing battery state, with custom sizes and colours.

Had my San Francisco nearly 3 weeks only downloaded free apps so far. Been wondering how do you pay for apps?? Is it by debit card or is does it come out your phones credit??

[Renniks]

I imagine by Debit Card Mate??

Only downloaded free Apps myself!

Debit or Credit card via Google Checkout. You can get refunds within 15mins of purchase.
