Root Savage kernel 1.6 screen wake issue?

Hello all.

I am using savage 1.6 and twice now in the little over a week I've been using it, the screen has not wanted to wake up. The first time it happened was within the first hour, but all has been good until it happened again tonight.

The first time I was at work and by the time I got my otterbox off, cleaned it alittle and went into another room about to pull the battery, it was booting back up.

Then night, the screen refused to wake. I pressed the power button about 5 times and nothing. Went got some food out of the mic, then to the fridge to throw some jalopenos in, got back to my phone, 5 mins maybe, just to see it booting up.

Anyone hear of this before?

What ROM are you using? I'm using Savaged-Zen 2.0.0, on CM7. The first few times, the screen wouldn't turn on. But after a few times, it started to work again.

Using the savaged-zen kernel, I had that issue with the savaged-zen governor. It's a known issue with that combination. Holding down the power button for a couple seconds would always wake it up. I decided to avoid the issue by just using a different governor. What is your ROM/kernel/governor combination?

Miui froyo 1.3.5 and savage 1.6 kernel. Governor... I'm a noob there. Are governors only associated with proggys like setcpu or cpu tuner?

At xda I just read about a issue with screen wake issue when using smartass governor along with a screen off profile. I don't see smartass gov or screen off profile in CPU tuner. Is this just something with setcpu?

It has to do with the kernel. Setcpu is just one app that has the ability to change the governor. Profiles, however, are specific to setcpu. Other apps have the ability to do that, but as they are specific to the app, they will clash with each other, and cause problems. As for the governor, you can use something like OS Monitor to see what it's currently set to, and even change it (though it's a little more confusing than setcpu). Use that to find out what it's currently set to. If you use smartass with profiles, though, you'll have problems. Smartass is designed to do the same things that profiles do, automatically.
