Root Save to SD card?

I know that all of my pics and downloads are saved to my sd card, but when I download an app it doesn't give the option to save to sd card.

Is there a way to set the default so that my apps automatically save to sd card?

Is that even something that I want to do?

People always reccomend that I save certain apps to my sd card but how do i make that distinction; in other words, how do I know which apps to save to sd card an which to save to my phone?

Any help is appreciated.

when we get 2.2 it will give you the option to move apps to sdcard...there is apps2sd at xda, but it involves paritioning and isnt for the for those without patience
