Is there a way to save my contacts from my old phone that are now on my EVO, to my google contacts thing?

Well I think I justice turned something off, because I got 300 contacts in the phone but only 17 in google.
You want to go to Menu->Settings->Accounts & Sync
You'll want to have Background data and Auto sync turned on and then go to your Google id under User accounts on that same page and be sure that Sync contacts is clicked.
From there, you do a Sync Now to force the update you're looking for.
