Saving pics to external SD card.

On most AOSP ROMs there isn't an option in settings in the camera app to save pics to the external SD. Can someone tell me how to do this?

for me in CM10.1 I had to go into the camera settings, and select SD Card. Actually, SD Card was already selected but not doing it, selected something else, then SD Card and all was right with the world

Open camera, go to settings then scroll down to storage tap on it and select memory card ( see screenshot below)

JB. Doesn't give me that option in Camera settings. Believe me I've tried them all. Only a few AOSP ROMs have the option to save to SD. I know this because the storage path is SD/0 not 1.

i'm on JB as well. is your sd card mounted?

Yep. I'm not sure why it doesn't give me that option, although it works every time on wild for the night.

Either no one is using any AOSP ROM other than WFTN(which allows saves to external) or no one cares that there pics are saving to internal memory, but this has been an ongoing problem. With only 11gb of valuable internal memory, people should be concerned. That one reason turns me away from most AOSP ROMs altogether. I don't see most posts about this problem but it is a problem.

Or they just move them to the sdcard with a file manager like ES file Manager. So, there is not big deal to be concerned about.

Yeah but I'm wondering how to do that by default? Can you guide me through it and tell me which file explorer you're using?

I'm using cm10.1 which is AOSP, is it not? I have the option to save to my sd card. I think this may be a ROM specific problem

Yeah it is. I was also using cm 10.1 and it had that option as well. There are some other AOSP ROMs that i enjoy a lot but i don't use because that option is not there.

I have ES file manager.

If you navigate to the picture with es file manager, you can long press on it and it will bring up a menu of options with copy and move options. You can also select multiple files and do it in batch operation.
