Help Saving Ringtones

I've loaded some mp3 ringtones to my desire using "Tone Picker" and they work fine, but they don't seem to want to stay put. I've noticed that after I've assigned a ringtone to a particular contact then turned the phone off it goes back to the default tone.
Could someone help please?

I get the same issue, did you sort it out in the end?

In wondered about putting it on the phone rather than the SD card in case the card is not initialising quick enough for the phone to use it as a ringtone.

Are your phone contacts on the phone or sim or gmail, i had the same problem until i put my contacts as gmail contacts, now my ringtones stay set, and have done for months

Did to Gmail suggestion - funnily enough I don't use Gmail all that much but I exported my Outlook contacts to Gmail then zapped into the phone. Simpler than reloading manually. So far so good! Thanks for the tip.
