Is there a way to automatically save applications and everything else to my sd card? I'm new to androids so I'm not really sure what to do. My phone keeps telling me it's internal memory is full.

By saying "save", you probably mean "move".
If you have a phone with at least Android v2.2, then just download App2SD Free from Market, open it, select "Movable" tab. When you press an application there, it will give you a choice to move to SD card. Click that and the app will be moved from internal memory to SD card.
