Say callers name?

Is there a way of getting the note 2 to speak the callers name for an incoming call?

My nokia N95 used to do this and it was useful is the device is in the case, so you dont have to look at the screen.

Try looking through the Accessibility options in the Settings menu. I believe I saw about about speaking the caller's name in there.

The native "Driving Mode" toggle, on the status bar (scroll to the right) does this.

Or you can go to settings/language and input/text-to-speech output/Driving mode to turn it on and customize it.

nothing on the status bar but found it under accessibility, thank you. It will even read out the messages you get etc.

I prefer the samsung speech engine to the google one, more realistic espeicially if you set it to "thick voice"

I have just done as you advised. Very cool. Just moved to Android from iOS (iPhone4) and find so many more things available.
So happy to have cut my chains from Apple.

Tasker is an app in the Play Store. It does all kinds of automation on your phone but it is not an easy app to use. It is very powerful though.
