To be honest with you, LG's customized interface throughout their builds of Froyo and Gingerbread are amazing. Their Keyboard, Browser, Launcher, App Draw, Notification Bar, Lockscreen, Text Interface, System App Notification #, Call Interface, and much more have made this phone my favorite phone yet. Once you see what the LG Thrill 4G has to offer at factory, you wont care for any CM7, or CM9 build. I'm more than happy with my Thrill, no phone can touch this one. Anyone would love this phone.

One thing I'd suggest if you do get this phone, be careful rooting. I must've s-off my radio when I rooted because signal died completely, and my IMEI was wiped. (Unless the dude on eBay sold me a damaged phone, which I doubt) I personally tried everything to fix it, even took it to AT&T, all they did was give me another one, although the model is a newer model and I haven't been able to get Gingerbread on it because LG hasn't released it for P925P models. So one, make sure you get a P925 model, and two, be very careful rooting.
 
Jumping ship as well. How are you guys getting $200+ for your phones??? In my market, it seems that NIB phones go for 180-200 nowadays. Used ones are going for $120-150.

Trying to decide on which phone to get for TMobile. Was originally planning on SGII/Amaze, but looking to save some cash instead. Looking to spend $100-250 on a used/new phone. Dual core would be a plus if it really helps with fluidity. I'm shying away from the Exhibit II because of fluidity problems, and after the Intercept and Triumph, I can't handle that anymore.

So it looks like I'm going to have to settle for HSPA+ 21. Any ideas? mt4g? g2x? sg1/vibrant?

Was originally looking at the g2x since it's pretty cheap and has good specs, but there seems to be a lot of dissuasion regarding that phone.

Almost seriously thought about WP7 since no one has anything bad to say, but I just can't do it.

So my choice between vibrant/mt4g/g2x? Anything I'm missing? Any recommendations among these? I hear the vibrant gets lousy reception and the g2x is just a flat out lousy phone.

I say MT4GS. It has the same dualcore chipset as the SGS2(although HTC has it underclocked to 1.2ghz... but can easily be fixed by flashing a kernel), 8mp camera with a backlight camera sensor (and virtually no shutter lag and it runs GB), Hardware slideout keyboard, 3.7" Super LCD screen with 4 point mulit touch, trackpad, physical buttons (including dedicated camera button), runs espresso sense 3.0 (which is a more lightweight version of sense), tv-out through headphone port (so it can be used on virtually an tv as long as it has composite ports) and can be gotten used for around the $200 price range if you want to learn more you can go to the XDA thread for it here and read up T-Mobile myTouch 4G Slide - xda-developers. I've heard a lot of people say the G2X is utter crap full of bugs and such... Also you can sell your MT on ebay, craigslist (watch out for scammers though) or even the classifieds here and depending on condition you can get a pretty penny out of it.
 
Hmmmmm! Thanks. Wasn't really considering the slide since I'm more comfortable with the touchscreen now and prefer the more solid feel of a non-sliding phone. But from a spec/price standpoint, it is looking like a winner now. What's TMobile's policy on warranty exchange of used phones on the prepaid monthly4g plans?


Yeah, trying to avoid ebay. Those fees really kill the deal. Craigslist in NYC is what I was using to gauge market value. About to get a new refurb from VM along with a new battery door. Maybe will try the forums

I'm not sure if you can do much through T-mo (at least with a used phone) it's more done through the manufacturer I believe, but you can always ask with T-mo's live support.

Ebay isn't too bad... You just have to get the price just right. But do what you want to do. Dealing locally is usually the easiest and safest way though.

About the same specs, but bigger better screen and no slide out keyboard. Seems street price is about to same to ~$20-30 more. Any problems with this one? Probably going to pull the trigger soon.

In a bit of a pickle though. Have a replacement Triumph on its way from VM. Need to re-up another $25 tomorrow. Wonder what would happen if I just ported out my number tomorrow. Guess I'll wait until next month. Last time I did similar with TMO, I ended up having to get the BBB involved.

The sensation and the MT4GS are almost identical. I think the only thing is it may have a little worse camera (i'm not sure it has a backlit sensor like the MT4GS and the amaze not completely sure though), but that's about it. Most of the roms for the MT4GS are ports from the sensation so yea. It also has the full version of sense. Either way it really comes down to if you want the bigger screen or the slide out keyboard really. That's basically the differences. And I think the sensation uses MHL instead of through the headphone port, but it's really just minor differences after the keyboard/ screen size.
 
Ooh, that's wonderful. MT4GS would just be composite, so MHL is nice. Too bad I never got use of the micro-hdmi cable I got for the Triumph.

Both mt4gs and sensation have 8mp cameras. I wonder if the cameras are physically different, or if it's in the software. I'm guessing the hardware must be different. Either way, should be good enough
 
Ack, right when I started sending emails to Sensation sellers, I noticed that the Sensation is only a hspa14.4 device. Is there all too much real world difference between 14.4 vs 21, especially on a more congested network? I know the difference is there between 21 and 42 where supported, but that's the nature of the beast.

Strange that the mt4gs is such a close sibling, but has hspa21
