Help Saying Hi with a question

Hello community,

just saying hi, as a new owner of an Andriod device is probably something You read every day.

So I add a question to the thread.
Coming from WM6.5, TouchPro2 with a cooked rom, I have still a lot of things to get used to.
My new gadget is the HTC Desire HD.
I am trying to find something for each thing I used to do with the TP2. For each topic I downloaded or purchased some program.

But where I used to be able to copy files into the ROM with Resco Explorer I find that Astro is not allowing me to do so. I'd like to add some mp3 ringtones, which I was using before. I understand that they are stored in /system/media/audio/ringtones but I seem unable to copy them from sdcard into there.
Is this impossible here with this system or how do I solve it.

Ooh, yeah, did not say so, but I hate to continue re-flashing, so I'd like not to root the device, just stay original stockrom.

Any ideas,
Ruud

Hi KejlyCZ,

Yes, correct, the directories mentioned in the thread were created and the usual tone selector found the files inside those directories, thank You !!

with best regards,
Ruud

Hello community,

though I am able to install ringtones, notifications and such like from the sdcard now, I still seem stuck with a topic.
I choose a ringtone from the sdcard.
In the office my PC might be sync (hence connected to the usb) and therefore the sdcard is not mounted anymore. When I receive a call or notification in this moment, the chosen sound is different.
Is this a thing I have to live with, or are there any other possibilities.

Well except from
-root
-choose charge when You connect to usb

with best regards,
Ruud

I haven't tried it myself, but if you save the particular song you want as a ringtone to the internal memory, maybe that would work.
