Root Scared to Root, is it difficult?

I've had my Optimus T for two weeks now and would like to root it. The bloatware has got to go. I am, however, terrified of bricking my phone because root=no warranty. What is the most "idiot proof" way of rooting and is it awfully difficult to do? Any advice or feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Fear not. Z4Root is very easy.

And if you brick your phone, you can go to LG's website and download their mobile phone tools and reflash your phone. (I know because I had to do it!)

Don't get too uninstall happy. For instance, if you don't know what an app is, it's better just to leave it alone. Good luck

I've read about this in several forums, what exactly is this root and what does it do for you?
