Well let me just say right now that whatever you said is gobbledygook to me. I understood git :) but like I said I'm learning. I'm still trying to pick a distro! Your work will still be there when I can understand it right? It might be awhile. I'm kind of a slow poke
 
Sweeet. I guess it wasn't all gobbledygook... The bit about device tree though... And cloning. And I know what source code is.... But now how it applies to Android :) I had to explain to another poster how I can barely flash a rom, because he was asking me stuff I couldn't help with! The ambition of building cm (ready cyanogen... Not clockworkmod) is kind of a raineyday project. Thanks again for the work you're doing. I think slim is the way to go as well.
 
Hey guys Ive got another question and I wasnt sure if I should start a new thread or not but.....

I have been reading about the Pure Performance Gold mod. I am unclear about the instructions because it seems to say that if you are running anything but GB or ICS stock to use the Cm version. However the Frosthax backup is stockbased (if not outright stock as far as roms go) so I wonder which is the correct version to use? Also for the upcoming slimrom? Stock or CM version that is? I suppose all these things are already baked into the rom or something but I just figured Id ask before breaking things :) Thanks in advance!
 
It can be any stock Rom for stock.it is enhancement script which is why it works on in cause we have an official stock.what it refers to is if you have a custom Romthen use the cm version.and honestly I'm sure he's baking his own stuff in there.since slimrom it's going to give us kitkat it's more a custom Rom for it's not native to the device.hope that clears that up

Does it count as bugging the dev if I cry? I will absolutely cry if I have to. But really though is it out of line to ask for an update? I am anxiously waiting :) I know, all it would be is " gotta wait longer" or "theres been ____ issue" but I am literally at the edge of my seat here! Yes I know this is why devs never announce schedules. Yes I know I am being impatient! But I gotta have that KAT! "Gimmie a break gimmie a break....." *sniffle* *Wah*?

Seriously though, I really can hardly wait, but if I learn to dev while I wait... well then be prepared for competition! :)
 
You could try helping figure out what went wrong with my streaming issue or tinker with stuff yourself.the first backup will take you to a place not broken but if you remove sense launcher have one ready or you will have issues.the list is there so you also know what not to remove to still be functional.main goal though is play Pandora while removing things.the moment it stop and loops.what you last removed to cause that will be the apk file I need to readd to smaller backup
 
I will see what I can figure out. As a matter of fact I would have volunteered sooner except that the new rom was so close! In the mean time, I do have a couple questions about your backup, but I will post them in the backup thread ;)

I got my storage problem fixed on my HTC One sv (Boost) and really like the stock ROM. I can strip it back if ever need to but have more apps than I want with the large play room the one_sv_swapper mod. If you are 4.2.2, why not reload the HTC RUU and debloat it like it is? With the swapper mod you can get 6.85/app storage, 1.15/phone storage and I am running a 64gb ext_sd card with no problem! The swapper mod is working fine on k2_cl's & ul's, have everything you need if you have not already done it. I was going to try the Venoms Viper ROM they advertise/list for the HTC One sv because it gives you a menu list to remove any/all you want from HTC, Google, Social Media and such that comes with it on the initial ROM install but it never would go through. Someone told me afterwards they only do work on European models and it would have left me without a radio. That has been the only ROM I would have installed, still would if I knew enough about programming to get it to work for our HTC Ones. Which one do you have?

Howdy! Heres the list I promised long ago. There is a long story about it but heres the short version.... Im sloooooow and lazy. And Im not too sure on what I do either.

Exact details on what this list is: Version 1 backup slimmed as much as I could stand. I was starting to get nervous and was taking backups constantly when my charge port broke so I used all the wizardy that my abilities could afford to one such as I and ran the command that LordVincent90 gave us to get a list of all the remaining apps on the device. The point is: Streaming still works as of this list here. Theres about a 50 app or so difference. I was going to make a list that just showed the differences, but laziness won and I didnt :)

There were some suprises. I thought I had trashed everything that said HTC or Google on it, but the list shows plenty still there. So here ya go guys. I hope this helps and if I ever get a new charge port (stupid local shops wont sell just the generic port, and I need like 3 for this and other devices) and have this puppy up and running again I will be sure to come back and help (as much as I can anyway)

As far as the KK slimrom goes, my new device is on KK and the ext_sd problem was a real bear, but is thankfully fixed. I wouldnt be suprised if that is what sidelined the man of the hour. The fix was in the kernel if anyone is interested. There were some names you guys might recognize working on it so Im sure if that same problemsurfaces here they will be glad to help.... well maybe, you never can be sure I guess :)

do not know how old this post is in relevance to still needing any kind of help but I do have JRummy's rumrunner that works on all htc's.......
 
been busy with life and atm im dealing with other things.rumrunner was already mentioned as i have another thread for initial setup but im sorry guys i dunno what happened to russel and im not really into programming big myself.maybe he got hung up on life such as me.

@knoober i havent looked at the list you have yet but if the streaming issue is fixed thats wonderful.ps you couldve gotten rid of the first 2 unless you use the app that works in your vehicle but overall nice job
 
@CoolBeans i dont think i received the article you found that works to switch app storage and all.

@knoober upon looking at your list its not bad,but are you still trying to test on wifi because i think i found what broke pandora but according to your list you removed it.

confirm if your using data for this test or a wifi.this is crucial to this test
 
nvm i think i slimmed it down more.leaving what i think broke it in and everythings working now.

trying to replace more things tho before release.i added a visulization app and a kit kat clock app instead of the one we had.

hmmm might replace the messages with something else but what.hangouts is ok i guess but idk i kinda want something better than that
 
Was. Working on data at the time. I don't know if I said but I was working g from the version 1 backup and slimming it. I'd remove some for the day and use it, them slim more the next day. First thing I would check after slimming was if Pandora was working or not, and (now that I say this is wont) it was still working as of the list posting. I was going to make a comparison list and only post what the differences between your backup and mine were, but.... I'm working on another device ( which means it seems like to much work for little old me) so I just gave you guys the list I had. I don't know if it makes a difference (kinda sure it doesn't actually) but I replaced the launcher with Nova instead of Go. Personal preference is all.

And like I said if you guys ever do get KK watch out for the storage problem. I hadn't heard anything about it before my new device and it ruined a couple of days for me :) I never hated Sense until KK, then that BS had to go!

@knoober upon looking at your list its not bad,but are you still trying to test on wifi bi think i found what broke pandora but according to your list you removed it.

ya idk but removing checkinprovider broke streaming for me.i dunno why it didnt affect like that.might be because of the launchers but i already posted a new backup

2 things that are minor but easily fixable.you get an error myhtcservices.apk and .odex can be removed to fix that.its not really associated with anything but chimes when you send a picture

also the voicemail app at the end of the list cant verify accts for some reason.easily removable.as for all else nothing else seems to be broken pandora etc work flawless so its more or less unglitchable minus those 2 things i said can be safely deleted they are crapware anyways i just overlooked them

if you also want you can tech remove myhtcsetup and setup altogether as well.not personally needed.anything other than that i wont recommend.i slimmed it down pretty far this time without breaking the main functions
