Help Screen Bightness Fluctuates : Bad Ambient Sensor or expected behavior ?

I got my HW 004 from Asurion and it's screen brightness fluctuates quite frequently. This is something I didn't experience on my HW 003!

The screen's brightness frequently cycles between bright to dim for no reason i.e. no change in lightning, and the phone simple sitting idle.. I have Auto-Brightness set to ON and this was not an issue on my previous EVO. I prefer to keep Auto-Brightness ON so I don't have to toggle manually.

I have tried a hard reset, in vain.

I am wondering if this is a known issue or a faulty ambient sensor ?

If it's a malfunctioning hardware, I am within my 15 day exchange period from Asuiron.

I would request another handset partner asap before your 15 days is up

Probably a hardware problem, but stay aware of your fingers; I had the bad habit of shading the sensor with my finger movements while using it in landscape mode, causing it to trip out a bit until I realized what I was doing.

I'm still debating .. I don't wanna end up with a POS refurb from them... I disabled the Auto Brightness and it's been fine since.. but I'd rather have it ON...

Probably going to call and act mad so they send me a BNIB replacement!
