Help Screen brightness after using camera and also the White HTC screen issue

Is anyone having these problems or know of a solution?

1) I have my brightness set to automatic, but sometimes after using my camera the automatic setting is removed and I have to go back into settings to switch automatice brightness back on. Annoying!!

2) After various app updates when pressing the menu/home button I get the white HTC screen which is anoying. From previous posts I've seen that a solution is a soft reset (remove the battery when phone still switched on). This does stop the white HTC screen appearing but is a bit of a pain having to remove the batter 2 or made 3 times a week.

Any suggestions?

I had the same issues exactly with my Vodafone sensation. The camera problem was particularly annoying.

Since I rooted and went for Android Revolution HD ICS ROM I've not had any trouble with the camera and only a tenth of the 'HTC' screens appearing.

I've had the same issues on my Vodafone Sensation. I don't have a fix for the brightness issue, I'm afraid, so your best bet is to just have a brightness widget on one of your homescreens so that you don't have to delve deep into your settings each time that happens.

As for the white screen issue, the best thing to do is to install a custom launcher. There are some really nice ICS only ones (I use Apex, although Nova is very similar), and the only thing you really lose out on is HTC's widgets, but I had stopped using them a while back anyway. You keep the HTC lockscreen, apps and menus, so you get to keep the good bits without the constant Sense crashes.

I had both issues with my Sensation.

After the update to ICS/Sense 3.6 the issues stayed away.
But I've the update just for a week ;)

Just upgraded to ICS from Gingerbread on VodafoneUK...

I haven't noticed the camera/brightness issue re-appearing since upgrading myself, but it also happens to my m8's Samsung GS2. I have been told its a known bug in Gingerbread.

As far as the HTC white reload screen is concerned, again this is due to memory management issues. It is designed to happen.

Crap I know, but you have to manually manage yourself to avoid it i.e. don't customise the skin to much or keep lots of apps running in the background. Regular use of the task manager and making sure you aim to have around 150mb or more of free memory available when you have killed all apps a few times etc will reduce or even eliminate the screen from appearing.

I only tended to see it when I finished playing a large game suddenly, for example exiting by pressing the 'home' button rather than exiting it correctly.

Or removing permissions for certain apps to check themselves for upgrades and refreshing themselves etc...

Again since upgrade, memory management seems better as with the same apps installed and with the same notifications etc switched on, I seem to have 50mb extra RAM to play with...

"Shouldn't have to...!" I hear you say.
No we shouldn't, but if we were perfectly happy with our phones we would never upgrade now would we?!

As I heard Sense 4.0 is downgraded.
Maybe Sense 3.6 is too.
So there may hope with the Sensation's RAM design issue :)
